“Teach and practice, practice and teach - that is all we have; that is all we are good for; that is all we ever ought to do. “ Ernest Holmes
Nancy Elaine Presser began her journey in holistic arts over 12 years ago when she received acupuncture as a treatment for depression. This led to her becoming a certified massage therapist in San Diego, California from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and the International Professional School of Bodywork. Her massage training specialized in Oriental Healing Arts such as Tui Na Chinese Medical Massage, Traditional Thailand Massage, Tai Chi Chuan – Yang Style Short Form, Qi Gong and Nei Gong Gee Liao – Healing Energy Hands. During her education at IPSB she joined their Teacher Training program where she learned the subtle art of teaching. She has been impassioned with teaching and sharing her knowledge with others ever since.
She has been a practitioner of Tai Chi since her first exposure to it in 1998 studying under Bill Helm of the Taoist Sanctuary and Jack Baker of IPSB. After moving to Gig Harbor in 2005, she found a new Tai Chi mentor in Stephen Allen. In 2007 she began passing down the Cheng Man-Ch’ing Yang Style Short Form to members of the Gig Harbor YMCA as it was taught to her.
Since her initial exposure to alternative medicine and energy movement exercise, she has continued to try other healing movement therapies to help balance her mind/body/spirit. In 2007 she found a new holistic art to love in Hatha Yoga. She began teaching yoga at the Gig Harbor YMCA in 2008 and became a 200 hour certified yoga instructor with Radiant Health YogaÒ, a Yoga Alliance approved school, in 2009. She chose certification in Radiant Health YogaÒ because it complemented her approach to the mind/body/spirit connection that she was taught at IPSB and is now enthusiastically sharing her new love of yoga with all that are willing to receive it.
