Jacquelyne Fisher
MS, L-MFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Jacquelyne Fisher has lived in Gig Harbor since 1983, having relocated here from her native state of Oregon. Ms. Fisher has had a passion for teaching children and supporting families since her early twenties, when she graduated with her first education degree at the age of 21. Following several years of working as a classroom junior high teacher, Jacquelyne was inspired to specialize in children with exceptional needs. Following completion of a Masters Degree in Special Education and a specialty in School Psychology, Jacquelyne decided to open a private practice in Gig Harbor Washington in 1984. In 1990, Jacquelyne completed a post-graduate licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy to integrate the needs of parents and families into her practice specialties. Ms. Fisher has been a business owner and therapist at both the Center for Therapeutic Intervention, (1984 - 1993), and the Family Center for Behavioral Health, (1993-2008). Both clinics continue to be thriving business practices serving children, adults and families in the greater peninsula area.

Jacquelyne Fisher has held a vision for bringing a multi-disciplinary teaching and wellness center to the greater Peninsula area since the mid 1980’s. Harbor Wellbeing, a mental health clinic and healing arts center will open in April of 2009, with Jacquelyne’s husband and colleague, Brian O’Connor and friend and former business partner, Carol Cole McGilliard, as business owners.

Jacquelyne looks forward to continuing her clinical practice with individuals, children and families when she opens Harbor Wellbeing in April of 2009. She has a passion for creating and inspiring personal wellness and wholeness in relationships with others. Having recently completed an intensive teacher training in Kum Nye Yoga (November of 2008), she looks forward to returning to her first delight, teaching. Ms. Fisher will be offering classes in mindfulness practice and mind body yoga at Harbor Wellbeing. She is most grateful to this community of colleagues, friends, and family which continue to support her dreams.
